A note to the Irish Times
The way you construct headlines for digital as opposed to print is poor and at times misleading.
Here’s an example from today. In the printed version of the paper, you run a story with the headline “Irish volunteer doctor on Greek Island says car was attacked by local protesters” with the sub title “Windows of cars carrying medics smashed by men on motorbikes”
On the Irish Times website, the headline is “Irish doctor targeted in baseball attack”
The paper headline informs the reader.
The digital headline acts as clickbait to feed the Ad tech machine.
As a paying Irish Times reader for over 3 decades I am not impressed.
