Irish Banks selling ATMs
Bank of Ireland and AIB are trying to sell off some of their non branch ATM’s. This will mean that charges for using these will dramatically increase.
The reality is that these machines are probably expensive to maintain. The banks would also prefer you not to use cash at all. It seem that people living in rural areas will be affected more than others, but it would be interesting to see a location map of where exactly these machines are.
I wonder how many are in border areas given the spate of attacks on ATMs in recent years.
We need a stronger regulatory framework protecting consumers from predatory financial services companies.
